Testing a Film on Nonprofit Transitional Housing for Older, LGBTQ, and Homeless Individuals

CSUN Professor Luciana Lagana will present preliminary findings of her research using a film to reduce ageism and improve attitudes towards older, LGBTQ and homeless individuals. Supported partly by a HIRI Nonprofit Research Fellowship grant, the film will be shown along with lecture-discussion. The film features interviews with older LGBTQ individuals residing in transitional housing and with operators of this housing (highlighting challenges encountered by nonprofits in this arena, such as nearby homeowners worried about possible declines in local real estate values).
